Question by zzzzzzzzzzzzzz: How does a person with Mild Aspergers look and behave?
Can they appear normal ‘neurotypical’ 80% of the time but there will be little slip ups socially which reveals their AS? Can they blend in well? Hope to get answers from experts on AS particularly pertaining to girls..Is ‘Mild Aspergers’ even a credible diagnoses?
Hopefully there is an expert in this category!

Asperger’s has only recently become the diagnosis du jour in the psychiatric community. I should first state that I am far from any sort of expert on Asperger’s or any sort of disorder in the spectrum of pervasive developmental disorders. By its very nature, Asperger’s was characterized as perhaps the mildest form of Autism that was clinically evident. You didn’t hear much about it at all just a decade ago, but now it’s become terribly en vogue to make this nebulous diagnosis and discuss it. The very notion of a mild form of a mild entity kind of makes me think that you’re probably normal with some mild eccentricity which, in my humble opinion, does not warrant a medical/psychiatric diagnosis.
To wit, a person with “mild Asperger’s” would likely come across as entirely normal.
